Objectives of and programme of events for a debate
3. Members reflected on the discussion at the workshop earlier in the day and the implications it had for their thinking to date. The paper AEBC/02/02, tabled for the AEBC Commission meeting on 6/7 March 2002, reflects the outcome of members' discussion under this item.
Further actions
4. It was agreed that the BBC, and perhaps other broadcasters, should be sounded out more formally before the next full Commission meeting on whether they would be interested in commissioning a television programme or series of programmes as part of an event. Robin Grove-White would also follow up at a meeting the following week with Professor Ian Hargreaves questions around interaction with the media. It was noted that some outside bodies had expressed some interest in organising and funding evaluation of any process of debate.
Next meeting
5. The next meeting would be held from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday 7 March, immediately following the main Commission meeting.
