Commissioner with the Meat and Livestock Commission.  Former member of the Government's Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food.  Member of the Red Meat Industry Forum.  Chairman of the Food Ethics Council and former Chairman and Council member of Soil Association.  Awarded OBE in 1998 for services to organic farming.
